What's On
The Playcentre Casino Night looks like fun - one of the items up for grabs is the chance to take part in a Seasprite Helicopter training mission. This is not an everyday opportunity!
Also the tennis club open days are on Thursday morning and Sunday afternoon. The club needs members - it costs a lot to keep the facilities in shape. Tennis is fun and social and accommodates people of all ages and abilities, so give it a go.
Website Discussions and Crime
There are a number of active discussions on the website which is great. However there is a post that has disturbed a number of people, and that is one attempting to 'out' a local drug dealer. And it appears from the conversation that this 'dealer' is known to a number of people in the area. This really is pointless; the only valid choice in the first instance is to go to the Police. We are lucky to have a proactive and sympathetic Community Constable in Hermien Kok. She can advise with discretion about the best path to take in these matters. Contact details are on the website.
From The Ratepayers Association
The AGM was a success with 4 new committee members elected. From the AGM a group that has an interest in formulating a Village Plan has been drawn together. If you have an interest but weren't able to come to the AGM, please email vill...@greenhithe.org.nz
The Association needs paid up members to keep the facilities running including the Village Hall and the website. Please join up and pay the tiny $15 annual subscription. You can pay by post, direct credit, credit card or Paypal. Details on the website.
The website will be used extensively to give you information about candidates in the upcoming local elections. Details to follow.
