AGM Reminder - Tuesday 13th 7.30pm

Please note that the Greenhithe AGM will be held on Tuesday evening. We are expecting a good turnout so the venue has been moved to the Village Hall. If you want to be a community member of the Residents and Ratepayers Association please bring $15 (but entry is free and everyone is welcome). North Shore Village Planning Initiative A presentation will be made at the AGM by Chris Everitt - North Shore City Council, North Shore Community and Social Services on this initiative and how the Greenhithe community can gain the best value from working together with them. Chris’s presentation will be supported by Max Thomson, who is the Chair of Campbell's Bay Residents and Ratepayers Association. Max has been actively involved in the development of the Village Planning concept for the North Shore. This is an initiative to work with local communities like Greenhithe, to help them develop plans for community development.   Auckland Super City and how this will affect Greenhithe Residents It is hoped that with the transition to the new Super City and the establishment of local boards, that Village Planning will enable local communities to engage successfully with local boards, the new Auckland Council, CCOs and other agencies. We firmly believe that for this to be a worthwhile process it is vitally important that a truly representative range of interested parties is brought together to decide: firstly – is this something that the people of Greenhithe want to pursue and secondly – what do people want to achieve in terms of local development. We do hope that you can join us. Please feel free to forward this invitation to friends and other residents of Greenhithe.

You will then get a further warning after which the listing will be withdrawn from the site. You will also now get reminded of your user name for when you in to relist your ad, as that has been a frequent request. </li> <li>Facebook integration - you may notice that every page on the web site now has a Facebook 'Like' button. If you are a Facebook user then this will post the link to your Facebook 'Wall'. You can now see who of your Facebook friends have also 'Liked' the page if you are still logged in to Facebook. Changes to the Greenhithe Website and Classifieds

Some things end up on your to-do list for so long that they somehow fall off the bottom. Being indoors feeling a bit crook has given me a chance to address some of those fallen-off-the-list things. One of those items was to move the <a href="http://www.greenhithe.org.nz/portal/">Greenhithe website</a> to a new server which I have now done. That has made the website slightly faster and more reliable but you probably won't notice which is exactly why I took so long about it! Another one is the <a href="http://www.greenhithe.org.nz/portal/classads">Classifieds</a>, which has a few bugs in it. Expired listings lingered around forever and so listings were stale and cluttered up the pages. <ul> <li>Listings still last for 31 days. No change there. </li> <li>You get emails reminding you to relist before expiry. When you do relist, your item will once again go to the top of the 'Last Items' list. That's different. </li> <li>You will get another email after the listing expires. At this time it is not visible to anyone else on the site, but you can re-publish it with a click of a button. That's new. </li> <li>A number of people have forgotten their user names and passwords by the time their listings expire, so the email contains a your user name and a link to reset you password if needed. Loads of fun at the Greenhithe School Fair on Sunday (28th)

Please come and support our Greenhithe Primary School... We have books, cakes, white elephant, coffee, awesome auctions--silent auctions and quick fire. So many generous businesses and individuals have provided money and services, but the event will only be successful if the community supports it. So please come along -- bring your kids, grandkids, yourselves and make Greenhithe proud! Changes to Brigham Creek Road from Wed 3 February

The NZ Transport Agency would like to advise of changes on Brigham Creek Road from Wednesday 3 February for around six weeks, until Friday 19 March.
