Ross CRAIG
Accountable Independant
  1. To proactively empower the two Local Boards.  For  the Upper Harbour Board I will prioritise developing excellent communication with each Board member and after a chairperson is elected develop a close working and positive relationship with him/her.
  2. I will pursue a fiscally tight agenda when it comes to keeping Council costs and thereby rates to a modest level.
  3. I will work hard to acheive more efficiency in public bus transport within the ward.  I am very concerned about the level of traffic congestion in the central Albany area and will seek to promote iniatives such as feeder bus services, more car pooling and  more flexible working hours.

  • Rates An astute Councillor will represent you by participating in diligent budgeting and planning and making decisions for the right reason with every regard for the consequences to you.
  • Transport Immediately; [1] An integrated ticketing system to combine all forms of commuting transport. [2] A park and ride should be instigated at Silverdale to reduce commuting traffic through the North Shore.
  • Water [1] Water supply and management must never be privatised. [2] Water must not be a volumetric charge to ratepayers.

David COOPER
Independent - My principles are: Fair, trustworthy, and sincere.

1 To keep costs and rates under control, as ballooning costs will be a high risk in the honeymoon period for a new Council.

2 To help make it all work.  There are real opportunities to finally get an Auckland Plan agreed, however it must be made affordable.

3 To ensure that our ward (Albany) is not treated unfairly when it comes to funding the shortfalls in other areas that have been less forward thinking.

Ian BRADLEY
I stand as a true independent with no commitment other than to serve the ratepayer.

1. To make people feel they can influence what happens to their communities.

2. To continue to try to solve our transport problems.

3. To preserve the character of the local communities that will make up the big city.
