Julia PARFITT

Proudly Local, Proudly Independent

Life long ward resident, current councillor and deputy mayorand Justice of the Peace. Wide experience in both local and regional governance, having served as our council's reprentative on

  • Watercare
  • Regional Land Transport Committee
  • The Electoral College for the Auckland Musueum and Motat
  • Auckland Regional Transport  appointments panel
  • Auckland Regional Emergency Management Committee

I have served as a councillor for this area for two terms. I have always taken an active interest in what is happening  in Greenhithe and have attended a number of meetings here. Extremely interested in the Place Shaping exercise Greenhithe is currently undertaking. I'm keen to see the area develop in a way that preserves it's unique identity.

'Keeping the Green in Greenhithe" is essential. Your community is currently engaging in the Village planning process and is already leading the way. As a councillor on the Auckland council I would do everything possible to ensure that village plan is adopted as part of the new Council's spatial plan which will be the blueprint for the new Council's and region's development plans.

1 Ensuring that the new Local Boards will have full functions, powers and funding, so they can truly act and deliver at a local level for communities like Greenhithe

2. Rates

The need to contain rates and spend money wisely. Commited to a city we can afford to live in ,as well as one we enjoying living in.

3. Need to focus on the essentials and ensure that money that is sourced locally is spent locally.
