Community Constable update January 09
During the months of December 08 and January 09 there have been a few reported burglaries and theft ex-cars. In one of the burglaries the light bulb got taken out of the floodlight outside. So please check that your floodlights are placed at a height that is not easily accessible.
Also we find that more garages are being targeted as
they are often not alarmed and as people often leave their work phone
and laptops in them please remove them as they are very inconvenient
items to go missing...
Most of the thefts ex-cars are because the cars
concerned were not actually locked so please lock your car, even if it
is parked in your driveway and once more, DO NOT leave anything in the car.
Speeding is still a big issue with cars coming down
Greenhithe Road and cars coming of the motorway... THE SPEEDLIMIT is
50km now.
A lot of car registrations that are being fed back to me are from residents in Greenhithe...There will be no warnings if caught!!
Kids are going back to school as well soon so think
about the children.. Going at 70 or more will get you home barely a
minute earlier but if you hit anyone, they barely have a chance of
survival.. Think about how you would feel if it was your child being
hit by a speeding driver.
And if there are any occasions in which you want to
phone the police and advise them of something going on but you don't
think it is warranted to phone 111 you can now phone 09-4775000 which is our Non Emergency Number, any time, 24 hrs a day...
I am still at the Firestation most Thursdays between 10am and 12noon and available for any reporting or visit.
Take care and stay safe

Hi Hermien
Just wondering if any other residents have reported having fruit trees stripped. 3 years in a row we have had our plum tree completely stripped of fruit even the fallen fruit. Not a major crime I know but invasion of privacy knowing someone is watching for when the fruit is perfect for picking and entering the property to steal. Maybe if other people have reported we could find out if there was a pattern.
We are in Isobel Road 51A ph 4139703 if you hear anything
Cheers
