Our
Council
Auckland governance changes - what’s next?
The North Shore City Council continues to work closely with the
Auckland Transition Agency, whose job it is to establish the new
council by 1 November next year. The ATA is currently undertaking a
planned and structured process to find out exactly what the existing
eight councils do and how they operate. Once that process is completed,
planning to build the new council will begin in earnest. If you wish to
discuss transition issues, please get in touch with our staff through Actionline or 09 486 8600. Alternatively, contact any of our Councillors or Community Board members.
Next week North Shore City Council will begin a fortnightly electronic
newsletter to provide regular updates on the transition to the new
council. If you wish to receive this newsletter please subscribe.
Council launches refreshed website
There is less reason than ever to line up at council’s front desk as
our new website offers an improved range of online services. Not only
can you pay your rates online, you can also submit a building consent,
make an application for a LIM, view property files, register your dog,
apply for community funding, pay fines, have your say on a new by-law
or plan change, contact your Councillors, find out about coming events
and so much more. More
Summary Annual Report for 2008 / 2009 now available
Our Annual Report measures our achievements and progress to date
against what was set out in the Annual Plan 2008/09 (part of our City
Plan 2006-2016). The full report won’t be available until the end of
September, but until then you can view the summary document online. More
Faster journeys for car poolers
Good
news for North Shore commuters – now you only need to team up with one
other person to use three of our transit lanes. Earlier this month, the
council converted the T3s at Shakespeare Road, Akoranga Drive and
Constellation Drive to T2s. More

strategy aims to make it easier for the council and the community to
identify and protect all historic heritage resources in the city and to
understand the stories behind them. You are invited to submit your
comments about the strategy before Thursday 8 October. More
