Condolences to Wayne Matthews' family
Wayne Matthews of Greenhithe sadly lost on April 26th at Whenuapai airbase.
We sadly note the passing of someone special in our community. Wayne's death in an aircraft accident over the Anzac weekend has been widely reported. We will miss someone who was enthusiastic about his flying passion, and very giving of his time and enthusiasm.
Only recently we reported Wayne's incredible feat of flying non-stop around New Zealand.
Our condolences go to Wayne's family and friends, and those of his passenger, Brent Baldwin of West Harbour. Wayne lived at Birchwood Grove in Greenhithe.
