Celebration for Olympians Fri 5 Sept 11-3
On Friday 5 Sept 11am - 3pm NSCC is organising a city celebration for our
returned Olympians, coaches, managers and prominent North Shore residents at the
Olympics such as Mike Stanley and Peter Montgomery.
A police escorted motorcade will start in Devonport and over a couple of hours will travel around North Shore City past prearranged schools and through some town centres. It will include Devonport, Northcote, Birkenhead, Glenfield, Albany , East Coast Bays, incl Millennium Institute, and back to Takapuna past the Taka Boating Club ending with a civic reception in the Council Chambers.
Our Gold medallist Tom Ashley and others have confirmed their participation in this wonderful city celebration. The motorcade will stop at some schools for autograph signing etc. It will stop at Tom's old school Westlake Boys for a huge school welcome and haka.
