Rock the 'Hithe 10th November 2013
The Lions Club of Greenhithe, together with members of the local Greenhithe community and Hospice North Shore are once again putting on a Blues & Rock ‘n’ Roll event at the Greenhithe School.
This event was the dream of Hospice patient, Chris Wykes. Chris wanted to give back to Hospice North Shore before she died and with the support of her daughter Shireen Garrett, friends Karen Hayston and Dean Morris and Dave Cheetham from the local Greenhithe Lions – and Hospice, a fantastic event was held. The artists all gave their time free, Shane, Tom Sharplin, The Rumour, Karen Davey, Roger Skinner and others. It was such fun and $9,300 was raised towards the work of the Hospice Community Nurses, particularly those working in the Greenhithe area and surrounds.
Because it was such fun, we have been asked to repeat the day and the artists once again are thrilled to return. Chris recently passed away and this year’s Rock the Hithe will be in her memory as we endeavour to raise the funds to help pay the costs of a Hospice Community Nurse supporting the families caring for terminal patients living at home.
