The End of an Era for Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled

Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled’s chairman, Arthur Eckstein will not be standing for President this year - a position that has been held by him for the last 25 years.

Arthur, along wth his wife Janet have been dedicated members of the committee after their son Aaron joined Greenhithe RDA at age 5.

“After seeing the progress which Aaron made while receiving therapy at Greenhithe RDA, we wanted to give something back to the group” says Arthur.

That giving back has seen the Ecksteins provide immeasurable amounts of hours in committee detail, grounds work, fundraising and support.

While Arthur has retired as president, he will still be a regular fixture at Greenhithe RDA, continuing his support in maintaining the grounds and facilities.

Greenhithe RDA will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 7.30pm on 20 April 2010 at the Greenhithe Old School Building (Collins Park).  All members and anyone interested in finding out more about volunteering with the Group, either behind the scenes or directly with the riders at the Saturday morning therapy rallies (no horse experience is necessary) are welcome to attend.  Please email to find out more information.
