While I think it all really awesome, you may not have entirely the same feelings about this web site. What is good, what is hard to use? Does the layout work well? Do you click on those ads that pay the bills? Does anyone read the news items or other bits?

Also, what ideas do you have for getting the community more involved online?

I think I need to add a 'report this post as offensive' feature. What do you think?

I think it is great site admin - yes it would be good to promote this site more to the locals,  i don't think half of them know about it. Only thing i would like to see changed is when opening a thread you get the last page/comment rather than page 1. Second thing is i do really think there should be a picture of me on the home page.... suppose that's pushing it though?

I think it's great too and would love more community involvement.  A couple of things;

1).    have it so all posts have the full date; for some reason some only have the day & time and sometimes things get a bit out of order.

2).   restrict posting to signed in users only (with real e-mail address'); this will hopefully cut out some of the abuse from 'anonymous' people.  Of course, anonymous users can still lurk..

3).   Maybe number each post and thread, and maybe the layout could be touched up a little so things don't spread out so much on some of them (i.e. when people are replying to replied posts!!)..

4).    (sorry, I'm on a roll)... Maybe have users profile pics show up by their name when they post??  If we could also have more emoticons to use within the body of our post?? (other than just and )

Oh, and PS.  Yes, I have been reading the news articles and clicked on a couple of ads.  Maybe the ads could do with a bit of colour to promote them, so more people will click on them??  Maybe advertising the site for a while in the Greenhithe Village News and on the notice board outside the dairy???
