Prejudice in the Community - Malthouse Rules

Posted by Candy Foxx at June 11. 2007

To all those who are prejudiced, gossipers, malicious and clearly misinformed

when
was the last time you actually went to the MaltHouse? they actually do
have a kids menu. You also might want to ask yourself why they no
longer have the childrens play equipment (apart from the fact that it
was donated to a childrens charity). As someone who has worked in the
hospitality industry myself for almost a decade one of the major
factors is making safety a number one priority. imagine what would
happen if one of your very responsible parent friends happened to look
away from their child for a minute and the child takes a tumble. who
gets blamed?? the parent??? no, the restaurant in question gets blamed
by the parents and by OSH for lack of safety. Yet it is the
responsibility of any parent to make sure their children are safe - how
can they do that under the influence?

The play equipment was not
in a safe environment and anyone who sincerely believes that a jungle
gym in a bar is appropriate should reconsider their parenting skills.

Did
you or any of these other parents consider the adults that come to
restaurants and bars not to get "pissed" but to meet their friends and
to temporarily escape children? not everyone likes children.

Stop trying to force your own views on other people.

Before
you judge the customers and the staff at the malthouse go in there and
take a look. it has changed. The staff are bubbly, well presented, hard
working, friendly and helpful. The food is great and the menu has
expanded. The new owners are generous, knowledgeable and friendly.
Luckily the Malt House has a great local clientèle and it doesn't matter
who you are they will befriend you - these are the people Greenhithe
needs more of.
i know this because i go there and because i get off my high horse. everyone deserves a second chance. even mighty Bertha.

It is sad that such a nice community can be so unforgiving -
what happened to neighbours being neighbours? we have bigger issues in
the world to deal with. Did you ever stop to think about the damage
your malicious words are causing, they are turning people against each
other.

To the concerned parent who complained that MaltHouse had
removed the grass and replaced it with concrete - what is your driveway
made of? Can you please send me the handbook that states the grass
legislation of Greenhithe?? One more question to you - When was the
last time you had 100's of people trample wet, muddy grass through your
living room - and how much damage did it do to your carpets. stop
stressing over the grass - if it is really that big a deal maybe you
should find yourself a nice slab of concrete near the highway and get
planting !!!

Oh and by the way Dr. Ropata - you are not in Guatemala now!!

I agree totally. I have always enjoyed the Malthouse and the staff are fantastic and very welcoming. Food is great and the atmosphere is always fun and enjoyable!

you obviously aint been to a pub in the UK lately. Some of the "children's areas" there certainly put the Wainoni Park development to shame, and would cost a lot less than the 3 million dollars spent on that sorry excuse for a childrens playground.
