Had a good or bad meal lately?

Posted by Greenhithe Editor at April 30. 2007

Had a good meal or bad at one of our locals, eg Collins House, Malt House, even Juliettes. What about slightly further afield to Albany or Hobsonville?

I went to One Red Dog ib Takapuna on Anzac day for lunch and we got the most terrible Caesar Salad. Some restaurant will call anything a Caesar Salad. They did not even agree with my complains. I am never going back there.

Malt House; can't see why they've got rid of the kids outside toys and menu.  We went there to have a good meal and let the kids have a good meal & play.  Now they have no kids meal (to speak of) or equipment... Haven't been back since... Their meals have gone down with where ever their kids equipment went to....

I'll declare a conflict of interest in that Collins House is a paying website customer, but I had a very good meal there a few weeks ago - even claimed my free glass of wine (see ad on the right). It is much much better since Scott took over. You feel like a guest,  not an intruder. I'd love to see the old lounge/bar area restored to the way it was for those who remember.

Slightly further afield, I've noticed that the influence of affluent beebs film crews on Claris Texas [Gt Barrier Island - ed], coupled with an obvious longing by the owners to be rid of it, has resulted in a thoroughly nasty serving of fish 'n chips. And considering the location, they should have the best!
