Wow! There are some pretentious gits living in G'Hithe now?!

Gone are the days it was a 'country hick town' or even a 'semi moving up town' - now it's a 'village' with 'olde greenhithe' and 'wainoni'! IF you don't like planes, suggest you don't move into Greenhithe (with an airbase that has planes fly over it!); IF you don't like intensive housing and trees being bulldozed, suggest you don't move into 'new greenhithe/wainoni' (cause it's been in the district plan for a loooong time!).. It's not hard people.. CHECK OUT THE DISTRICT PLAN and WHAT is going to happen around your house BEFORE you build/move into the area! IF you want to live somewhere surrounded by native trees and land, MOVE TO THE COUNTRY - NOT the suburbs (especially in a rapidly expanding area!). Stop moving into your little '500sqm plot of paradise' and THEN trying to stop what was ALREADY happening!

I think you must be referring to 'Wainoni Bottom' as we in the village of Greenhithe call that area - to prevent confusion with Wainoni Heights, which is part of the village. When I first moved to Greenhithe that whole area was marked on maps as 'Albany South', so it was always a bit presumtious to have it renamed 'Greenhithe North' on later maps. So sad to have lost the greenbelt that protected us from suburbia and it's hoi palloi. *sigh*
