Vader - Distant Cousin to Darth ! Gone but not forgotten ....

Posted by Anonymous at June 17. 2011
Last Thursday our black cat Vader went 'missing' in circumstances that i can only deduce are a little odd..
he is jet black , his coat is short and he is quite shiny albeit carrying a little extra weight
(who isnt eh !!) One of his ears has a cut through it and he has small white patch under his chin..
No collar despite us trying plenty...

He is a very homely cat , he's been sleeping most nights on my daughters bed for 5 years ( she asks me to point out
not for 5 years continuously - sigh ) and we live in a crescent road with little through traffic so we don t suspect
car -v- cat ...HE is a hunter and has the capacity to do what cats do killing mice etc so im suspecting he will be thinner
by now...

Vader is missing from Te Wharau drive and three little people are very sad so im posting this to see if you could
keep an eye out. If you are a cat person or a parent you ll understand why this is a hard time for them..

I ll come investigate any sighting and happily stand out and call for him. . .
Please repost this by e mail to friends/members of sports teams etc in neighbouring subdivisions if you are sympathetic
in case he has been 'relocated' by someone who dislikes cats !!!! :(

Thanks again

Couple this with the posts under General Discussion and we have four or five cats missing in the same area in a short space of time. Seems rather suspicious, particularly as Vader slept most nights indoors. Has someone recently moved into the area?

As for the person referred to as setting the cat flap to trap an intruder, they should set it to keep intruders out. I rather doubt that four or five neighbouring cats would be invading the place for a free feed.

They are not 'just cats'. They are part of a household and play a special part within it, particularly when children are involved as they learn to care for their pets and get something in return.

Let us know if he tuns up.

Has CC been made aware of this?

Delta. (and moggies).

Our lovely cat has gone missing ... some small people in the house are now very sad.. but what alarms me more is this is the third missing cat
in a very short space of time in a very localised area..

Might not be so bad but speculation amongst neighbours is that some local (purported) cat lovers are grumpy about their cat's food being stolen at night or cat fights and
have trapped cats they deem responsible and remove them from the area... not just speculation but kerb side conversations from said resident about setting the cat flap
to trap the 'visitor'. But what can you do without evidence eh !!!

Given that this is only rumour it's just a post to advise about keeping your cat home safe..!

Might even touch a nerve with a reader who i suggests google 'kharma' -

I see another one called Horace has gone missing this week. Could just be a co-incidence. Probably is.

But there does seem to be a lot of cats that go missing.
