We're extremely lucky here in Greenhithe....I've been into a few pubs around AK over the last few months and can't find anything to match our local, The Malthouse. The foods great, excellent coffee, great out on the deck on a sunny day (even a cloudy day come to think of it) and the staff are really really nice.....Some of the other establishments around good old AK need to take a leaf out of The Malthouses book.....they could learn a thing or 2

Good point Shayne. I feel a Fred Dagg line coming up... Incidentally, that is one of the objectives of the good folk that have opened the Green Bean Cafe and Deli.

The aim is to make the Green Bean a destination Café, somewhere your friends from elsewhere will say, “gosh aren’t you lucky to have such a fabulous place so close to home”.

Every time we have friends to visit they are envious of what we have here in our little community.  As for the Green Bean Cafe, I'm guessing they're not going to turn into one of those "Here one minute - Gone the next" or "Grab the cash and dash" type setups.  Those folk sure put in a lot of hard yakka cleaning the place out and getting it looking great before they opened.  I'm heading off tomorrow for my first Green Bean coffee and I just know that it's going to be good....
