How to go about getting yellow lines put in.....

Posted by Anonymous at November 13. 2009
Anyone know how to go about seeing if the council could put 'no parking' yellow lines somewhere? the road going to the school carpark (Sunnyview) is absolutely atrocious! Both sides of the street are fully lined with parked cars (and a truck to make it even worse), making the road not wide enough for 2 cars to fit down.. This causes CHAOS almost every day! God only knows how a child hasn't been hurt, or more accidents caused. Even if it was just one side that was no parking, and maybe for just a certain time of day (like say 2:30 to 3:30)

Get some support from the people who live in and around that street and bring that to the Residents and Ratepayers Association public forum. And/Or get support for the idea on these forums.

Also, stopping the AJHS bus that goes down through Oakford Park would be a good idea too, the road is way too narrow for a bus, especially on the corner where the bridge is. Crazy to have a bus going through there for 4 kids (I counted today) when a 100-200 metre walk to Tauhinu or Greenhithe Road would do.

I totally support this idea, the big truck and the cars on each side make navigating hard. Also hard to see kids who come speeding downhill on thier bikes, skateboards etc.

It is a tragedy waiting to happen
