Greenhithe isn't what it used to be............
People may like to think it still has it's 'community feel' and village-ness etc etc, but those same people are walking their dogs and letting them sh!t all over the place, dump their rubbish around the place and generally crap the place up! If people REALLY want to live like 'Greenhithians' then I suggest they start actually giving a shite about the place they live in!!

Re: Greenhithe isn't what it used to be............
Hi there - I agree about the dog poo. When I first arrived in Greenhithe almost two years ago, I wrote an account of the walk to kindy and how difficult the prevalence of dog poo made life with a pram and two toddlers. The Greenhithe website very kindly published that although I didn't see any response to it.
The person who walks their dog near Greenhithe School and who kindly puts their dog's poo into a bright blue plastic bag near the school and then leaves the bag by the side of the footpath is just as bad as the person who lets the dog crap and ignores it. If people are not responsible enough to pick up after their pets then why bother having one? It is not just the mess and inconvenience - it is the spread of diseases and parasites like worms to other dogs, cats and children. The round corner of sheltered lawn on the corner of Isobel and Outlook Roads is a dog toilet and I have seen children playing on that patch of grass. We counted ten dog poo piles on that small patch of grass once, and the next day it was mown over and poo spread all over it. A day after that, we saw two school girls do some forward rolls on the freshly mown grass and when they stood up they were aghast to find dog poo all over their school jumpers.
It would be nice if kids could be kids on grass and people could walk the pavement without fear of treading in something gross.
Do you think any dog owners will actually change their behaviour?

And you Sir, being here for 50 years that's great. Well done for doing so gee you have done so much for the place your tone says it all.
Move with the times and move out then if you don't like winging? welcome to the new age where people don't tolerate top end society thinking they can do what they want. There are all types of people living here now it's not going to be the same 1950's style mow the lawns on Saturday morning while wife puts out the washing with the kids at her feet like what your probably missing dearly.
The new Greenhithe is a vibrant and bustling area expanding and only going to get bigger and louder.
See a dog owner dropping their bag of poo outside the school?, yell at them in front of everyone, embarrass them best you can, find out where they live call the council.
And Sir, I take it your one of those people with your 'perfect' widdle dog doing this? probably.
How about you get a life, been here for 50 years? get out more.
