What is it with dog owners around here?
Has anyone noticed the amount of dog fouling around Greenhithe? or is that melted chocolate bars?
Has anyone else had quite enough of Mr or Mrs Ignorant's wittle 'Muffy' that, "Oh went to puppy training" comes bowling across the road and bails up your dog that is on a lead?
Do we need to start calling the Dog Rangers in more often?, can tell you now you dont want them cruising around here they would have a feild day with this neighbourhood and how laxed we are around here.
An incident recently has really ticked me off for the last time, some lady who had 'No control' over her pooch let the little bugger come flying across the road and bail my dog and myself up. Lucky for her I did have control, although saying that, with the type of dog I have I do not welcome other people's dogs to get my dog fired up, he is a complex dog and I dont appreciate his temperment being messed with, very unwelcome, and that is my right, or your right should it have been you.
Sometimes I wish I could just let the lead go and let some of these uncontrolled and 'puppy trained' dogs get what is coming for them.
Another instance, up by the park a lady whom was about 300 metres (on the feild which is also illegal and groce cause our kids play on those feilds) was just walking slowly towards us while her pooch sprinted over and was harrasing and bailing up mine. We were just minding our own business, ours was on a lead,
Do you know what this stuck up person said?
"Oh, he's okay, hes not used to dogs that dont want to play thats all"
JESUS CRIKEY!!!
Firstly your the one going across a soccer feild with your dog, second, your the one not controlling your dog, your Golden Retriever is aggressive, and then you have the gaul to make out like my dog is the bad one here???
The ignorance of this incident with this person started to open up my eyes to the faults of dog owners around here, which is annoying because realistically Greenhite gets away with it, and we should appreciate that we are a bit out of the way for the Rangers.
If you want your dog to fricking play with other dogs go to an off lead park????? duh???
That kind of attitude is really not fair when the majority of us are in control and just minding our own business.
Firstly, puppy training isn't an excuse to walk your dog off lead, nor is is actually legal to do so, puppy training doesn't mean anything if you dont carry it on into adulthood.
Secondly, a small number of our residents need to have a little ounce of respect for people outside of their perfect little world and realise that some of us only like our dogs to socialise with certain types of tempered dogs, for example, I simply can not socialise mine with a dominant/aggresive male dog - period, which unfortunatly is the most that people are walking off lead or that are out wandering by themselves.
And that is something that is your's and my god given right, I or maybe you, dont blimin want some up themselves person who isn't paying attention to their pooch, let their dog come harrasing, bailing up or attacking ours!
In other words, the Dog Control Act is black and white, and was written for a reason.
It is my right, and your right, legally, to walk down the road with our dogs and not have dramas from some idiot that knows nothing of the canine.
I will admit, some people I have seen have extremely 'disciplined' dogs and I have seen a few around that do nothing but run next to their master and focus on what they are doing. Although illegal, and irresponisble, I appreciate that for the mere fact that these people have really worked hard to get their dog to that level of discipline.
Its those that just wander 200 metres behind their dog that I am talking about, or dont bother trying to stop them when they go bailing up everthing and everyone.
Its not fair. Some of us have dogs that will rip other dogs to bits in seconds and are extremely responsible about it and try our best to have our unique pooch just get some exercise.
If you think having a small dog is a licence to do what you want think again, this is not the case. All dogs are capable of injuring other animals or people, statistics show that - no you cant just crap on pit bulls and mastiffs, no....you would be suprised to see what types of dogs are biting and attacking in the last five years.
If your dont want your dog getting ripped up by a bigger one or run over, put a lead on it.
Greenthithe is a nice up and down hill area and good for walking dogs, to those that are ruining it sort your life out and get over yourself,
And to those that are getting a bit p'd off about it all,
How about we start calling in the Dog Rangers......I know next time - I will be, I will just follow you home and you will be invaded by the truck with the grills on the back, simple.
Trust me, you dont want them coming around to your house on a challenging or attack allegation, keeping control of your dog is a serious thing - dogs are not toys or ornaments, train them, or contain them, or do everything you can to ensure you have control of them when out and about.
CONTROL YOUR POOCHES AND CLEAN UP AFTER THEM!!!

Re: What is it with dog owners around here?
whew! that was long winded.. But I agree - people seem to think because they love their dogs, that everyone else will too.. I get continuously pissed off with people thinking it's 'fine' for their dog to roam the streets - they should be contained in a fully fenced yard, not wandering to crap wherever they feel (not on their own property of course).. I think people do need to start calling the ranger for roaming dogs; it's not on! Also, to the dog owners who don't pick up their dog shite - PICK IT UP! The amount of dog crap everywhere is ridiculous! Kids can't wander around barefoot anymore, because of it! It's disgusting, and NOBODY wants to stand in it!!

Brilliant! I'll bet he isn't called Fido either.

No I dont actually, not at someone else's uncontrolled dog's leisure.
Saying that, all dogs have the potential to cause problems, whether one identifies this, and chooses to be responsible -
"....he is a complex dog and I dont appreciate his temperment being messed with..."
or not is the problem, for some - not is how they go about it. And let their dogs bail up others and cause dramas out on the road.
Some of the dogs around here have personality issues as it is and are un-controlled.
Not cool.
