Re bus link

If there was a [very] regular bus service to link up with Constellation, then I would definitely use the Northern Busway service. However, because there is no guarantee that I can get a bus, say every 20 minutes, it is not worth using. What a pity. Sarah-Jane Batten

Me too. Also, if you drive over to the Park and Ride, you cannot get a parking space during term time after about 8.30 am, so it becomes unusable for those dropping off at school before work.
It's a brilliant service once you can get yourself to Constellation though.

I am lucky enough to be able to catch a lift with my partner who drives to Mangere each day and leaves at 6.30am. However when the busway opened I took the opportunity to park and drive at around 8.30 at Albany because I don't need to start work at 7.00 every day.
But it appears the Northern Busway is already a victim of its own success. Both Constellation and Albany carparks are now full by 8.00am most days. So driving there is now out after 7.30.am
Living in Greenhithe and working in Auckland City means that unless I catch one of the 3 early commuter buses at 6.40, 7.10 or 7.40 that go direct to the city I am forced to wait for the hourly one that meanders all around the suburbs then to Constellation Drive.
I can only hope that the March madness settles down and the bulge (of students?) subsides....

I don't know of any Greenhithe bus that "meanders around the suburbs and then to Constellation Drive". After the "3 early commuter buses at 6.40, 7.10 or 7.40" the only options for leaving Greenhithe are the 133 to Takapuna and the 132 to Albany.

You could try using a 133 or 132 to catch the 891 that goes direct from Cuthill to Takapuna, and then change at Smales Farm on to one of the express buses down the busway. How good an option this is depends on the time of day, because the 891 goes every 45 minutes while the Greenhithe buses are mostly once an hour. I suppose you might try parking your car in the lay-by near Cuthill (on Upper Harbour Drive) and walking to the bus stop from there ...
