Revised bus timetable
Oh that's good then.
The 956 to Constellation just got slashed back to an even more minimalist timetable than before!
For those who work on the Shore it's a serious pain in the ass. We are now down to 3 morning services- unless you're cool with travelling via Glenfield.
Not happy about the consulation. Understand there were newspaper adds and mail-outs but we didn't get them, and it would have been a simple matter to post this up at the bus stops- especially the one opposite the school.
Maxx should get a big smack for this.

The ratepayers association is writing to various authorities about the situation. If you have specific examples, please post here

I do not have a specific example... however I am concerned that the slash in bus service has a major effect on the commnunity. The Greenhithe community is growing and as such requires a reliable, regular bus service into the city and surrounding areas.
1. I am concerned that there is no bus service from the city to greenhithe except at peak times...this to me seems really ridiculous considering that we are meant to save the environment!
2. the new subdivision kyle/hunterlodge end road needs the services of a good bus route to reduce the amount of traffic that will no doubt increase when the new subdivison is complete. I am not sure whether this has has been considered.
3. the bus will be used if they are provided at regular time periods that suit the needs of our community
4. I resent the fact that MAxx etc did not communicate or consult widely before making the changes

Re: Revised bus timetable
One of our family now works part-time at the Albany Mega Centre (part-time). On a Sunday there is a very minimal bus service from Greenhithe direct to Albany Mega Centre. Considering that this is now billed as the "largest retail centre in NZ", we are stunned that a better service does not operate from say west Auckland via Greenhithe through to Albany. On the maxx web page when one googles the trip Greenhithe to Albany to arrive there before 10am (her work start time) there are 2 options. One is to leave 8:38am to arrive by 9:27am which is 49mins but 3 bus changes. If one bus doesn't arrive or leaves early then she's stuck. The other option is, Walk 8055 Metres to Albany Mega Centre. We kid you not, this is the alternative option given by Maxx. So to save a hassle for the kid we are driving her there and back until such time as she gains her drivers license and can take herself.
On the topic of day time bus services to the city, it seems to be a requirement to change buses at least once on the journey & also walk between buses. The morning trip for work into town is OK but the evening would be fine too if the bus came when it said rather than leaving early and leaving us stranded for another 40 minutes.

Re: Revised bus timetable
I've endeavoured with the bus service (956 Opposite school and into the city) and constantly am amazed to see the bus leave either 10 minutes early or 10 minutes late. The 'late' I can understand but the bus should never leave early given that Greenhithe is the start of the run. I'm constantly overcharged as the drivers don't understand the new ticketing system and the reduced frequency makes the whole thing unworkable. The drivers are usually quite friendly though and mean well. Those who have a park in the city will know that driving is by far the best option in terms of time (and probably cost). For just a little more effort I think the bus service could work but doubt the resources are available
