Localist and YellowLocal

Posted by Site Admin at June 15. 2011

Has anyone looked at Localist http://www.localist.co.nz/albany or YellowLocal http://auckland.yellowlocal.co.nz/greenhithe/ and have an opinion about what is or isn't useful from your perspective? Does anything about them replace features or content on the greenhithe.org.nz site?

I can't for example imagine them tolerating some of the discussions on this site, or providing free web pages like http://www.greenhithe.org.nz/portal/sports/spin-class

I am still struggling to find how localist might be useful to anyone. To me, yellow local is a bit more on the money with their layout and content. Now if only either of them delivered useful search results...

Have looked at both sites. Don't believe that they offer any advantage over our local site. They both carry material that I consider to be superfluous. Too much graphics oriented material. Just increases and wastes bandwidth that users must pay for.
