Disastrous Development of 162 Kyle Rd Greenhithe

I am very upset by the application to subdivide this 10 acre jewel of a property that will involve cutting down approx 1,000 trees, or in the resource consent it is stated there are "too many trees to count." Most of them are 20+ years old and 112 of a total of 149 are protected trees (only 29 protected trees to remain). This formal application is sitting before NSCC right now and the 20 days are ticking away. If NSCC decides to make it a non notified application the chainsaws and bulldozers could move in before the end of November in spite of numerous letters to the mayor protesting. One other thing to note is that there looks to be only one entrance to this subdivision - thru Pitoitoi Ave/ Admirals Court intersection - for 53 houses, Can either of these streets handle a minimum of 53 + cars coming and going every day? It does not look like Kyle Rd is being openned up.

Funny, I thought the whole Kyle Rd development was 'disastrous' years ago when they carved up all those beautiful paddocks and bush.. It's not too bad now that I'm used to it.. I'm picking that you live around the Kyle Rd area? So it's fine that you live on your little bit of carved up Greenhithe, but not OK for anybody else?

You're missing the point. 162 Kyle Road is not paddock. It is a woodland that has been created over 20 years (from paddock), and it should be 'sympathetically' developed, not bulldozed. I'm picking that you live in 'Olde Greenhithe'?

Perhaps your best option is to persuade the landowner that he/she/it will make more money if they keep the trees. Otherwise you will be left barking at the moon (not even the wrong tree).
