Notification from Council - discussion
Up to Greenhithe Skatepark
Re: Notification from Council - discussion
Fantastic, for too long the kids have had nothing to do in Greenhithe but get into mischief at the school. My six year old spends hours on the half-pipe at Pauanui, he and his little mates have a great time with the big kids.......and guess what he hasn't even been gobbled up by the drug crazed, beer swilling bogey man that supposedly lurks in the shadows at these sorts of places!
This will also be a win for all the normal Greenhithe Mum's and Dad's who prefer their kids getting outside and playing, as opposed to those parents who prefer their kids being locked away playing playstation so the "big bad world can't hurt their little angles"!
Too all those prudish mum's and dad's out there....drag yourselves away from your TV, take the kids up to the skate park and have some fun with them, you may actually enjoy yourselves for the first time in your lives!
Hats off to those behind this project...this is great!!!

Looks great can't wait for the kids to be able to use it - good positioning close to the road with good visibility

Fantastic - can't wait to see this go ahead - great place for the skatepark to be!

What impact will this facility have on the Old School Building, it's security especially in light of the on going vandalism that occures in our community? What of the groups that use the hall? Will their peaceful pursuits be hindered by the youths outside using the skate park? Discussion needed indeed.
Don't want to stop healthy out door pursuits but this needs careful consideration.
In the Lions Club of Greenhithe 2011 calendar there is an iconic shot of the Old School Building. This view will be lost forever with the skate park constructed so close to it. Many elderly use the hall, will they have unhindered access still? Many questions are needed to be answered.
