"Build it, and they will come" Yeah Right!
By the way, the cub and scout groups need more boys. Now, I would far rather that my boy was interested in scouts and boats that that he were hanging around a skate park. What do other parents think?
Perhaps it's just me and my deluded wishful thinking that other parents would want something decent and great fun for their kids, but I used to ride my skateboard in our scout hall as a boy so I put the two thoughts together.

Anyone seen any kids shooting hoops at the school until dark?

I'm sure if we got the council to spend our rates on a skatepark, our teenage kids would know how much we love them and value them, and start to act and behave like sensible young adults. Right now, they don't know how much we value them because we haven't given them a skatepark. Girls get ponies, boys neeeeeed skateparks.

In the weekend I saw four young (about 10-12 year old) boys skateboarding along Greenhithe Rd.
I would be dubious about sending my son to cubs/scouts after all the negativity surrounding the industry...
