It is a stupid idea... Oh, we had a nice pub where all could go, no the new owner is turning it into a sports bar.. Now we are going to build a skate park were by all walks of life can go and probably do everything but skate..

Drinking
Drugs
Tagging

Oh, don't forget trying to wreck the ramp... I mean come on people, Greenhithe DOES NOT NEED A SKATE PARK....

We should get a night club aswell then, and a local pimp shop.. then we could be complete.. Let them build one in Albany... and well we all know these little sh1ts have cars cause you hear them all the time.. they can drive to teh ramp..

Oh, but then they risk getting picked up for drinking and driving etc...

With the huge amount of houses being built in this area there are going to be more and more kids growing up here who need more than a playground as they get older and a skatepark fits the bill.
The younger ones do not have cars and get told off for skating the footpaths so what are they supposed to do around here?...Well, all of the above I guess!
Think your comments through before knee jerking. Greenhithe is no longer a sleepy little retirement area - get used to it and the changes it brings

I agree that it is a bad idea. I have 2 small sons and we quite regularly go to parks that have a skate ramp so that they can ride their bikes on it. Unfortunately, these parks are also frequented by the local (in whatever area) young men and boys that are quite rough and my sons often comment on the language that they use. There are always empty beer bottles and graffiti and rubbish around. I don't believe that these are the sorts of things we want to encourage in the Greenhithe area.

Says WHO.. HOW do you know a skate park will be a fix all... how do you know people will use it at all... Tell the insurance companies we have a skate park in town and they'll probably put our insurances up..!!!
