I've got a better idea.........
Up to Greenhithe Skatepark
I've got a better idea.........
Yes OK now and then you may see a young girl on a skateboard but that is a novelty.
At best support for a skatepark is 50% and that is being optimistic.
How about a local low powered radio station?
Devonport has one, Browns Bay has one, Orewa has one and I believe Helensville has one or the last I heard was setting one up.
It would not only interest youngsters but oldies too.
It could contribute to community spirit which I feel is waning at the moment.
Everyone listens to the radio.
I don't know how difficult it would be to set up or obtain a frequency but I do know it would be a helluva lot cheaper than a skatepark.
I'm sure there would be a bit of space in the new development next to Jamies.
I'm just thinking positive.
Or is it just crazy talk?
Whaddya think?
Stan
Radio is at least an all-weather activity. Not sure how it would fund itself though, as there are not a lot of business interests in Greenhithe. Albany Basin might be more suitable as a target area.

Currently running at close to 60% support. What I don't know is how representative the sample is. The poll is however immune from people registering lots of votes.

And it is also not just for youngsters, could cater for all ages/ groups, school etc. And would not be a blot on the landscape.

I have got a better idea. Instead of a skatepark, which let's be honest caters for teenage boys.

A little bit of punctuation would probably make your comment easier to understand. What do you think?
