General Information
Location of the Club's home fields (Wainoni Park)
The Greenhithe Junior Soccer Club has teams from Midgets to 12th Grade for both boys and girls. Our main focus is for the kids to have fun, interact with other children and learn about playing as a team. At this level the emphasis is more on getting the kids trying their best rather than winning…although winning sure is fun!
Grounds
Our home ground is Wainoni Park in Churchouse Rd, Greenhithe. We use the three bottom fields throughout the season.
Training night
Training night is Wednesday 4:30-5:30 pm, although some coaches choose alternative times to suit their own circumstances.
Coaches
Greenhithe Junior Soccer needs coaches. Without coaches, our kids cannot play. With the number of children playing, and with smaller team sizes we need more coaches than ever – particularly for the midgets!
Our coaches are mums, dads, older siblings, grandparents and friends that are simply keen to be involved and give it a go! You don’t need to know all the rules in great detail – you just need to like children and be able to train once a week and attend games on Saturdays.
Our ‘Coach Coordinators’ will provide all coaches with a full kit of gear for each team, training ideas and support. The club will pay costs if coaches wish to attend formal coaching training. (Schedule of options available!).
Many of the 2005 coaches have now ‘graduated’ with their older children so please strongly consider being a coach – sport is a great way to be involved with your children!
